Support

This site has no ads. It has you.

Every five minutes the spectrograms come in from Tomsk and Cumiana. The Kp index, the solar wind, the amplitudes, all of it free to read, with no account, no paywall and no trackers following you around afterwards.

None of that was ever free. It just was not your bill.

Chip in

Running the monitor, the data feeds and the daily readings costs about $300 a month. That is one hundred people at three dollars.

Or $10 every month cancel anytime

Payments run through Stripe. Monthly support can be cancelled at any time from the receipt you get by email.

Why I ask at all

I run this site alone. The company in the footer is my own, a one person business, not an investor waiting for the moment the data goes behind a login. The station feeds cost money, the servers cost money, and the daily readings take compute that shows up on a card statement at the end of every month.

I could have put ads on it. I could have made the archive paid. Both would earn more than donations ever will. I would rather keep it open and ask the people who find it useful, once a year, quietly.

If you have ever checked the Kp index here before a hard night, or looked at a spectrogram because something felt off and you wanted to see the actual data, then you already know what this place is for.

And if now is not the time, that is completely fine. The data stays open either way, for you and for everyone else. You belong here whether you give or not.
